IT Connect UA: a project for Ukrainians worldwide who want to step into IT industry

IT Connect UA is a large-scale career and educational project that opens doors to the IT industry for Ukrainians both in Ukraine and across the globe. Training, mentorship, and real professional opportunities – all become more accessible regardless of location.

What is IT Connect UA?

The project was launched by EPAM Ukraine and Kharkiv IT Cluster, with the support of the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine, the Diia.City project from the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and IT Ukraine Association as a strategic partner. IT Connect UA provides an opportunity to master one of the most in-demand IT professions and get a chance for employment in Ukrainian companies.

The project aims to support those who want to enter the industry and receive quality free training, mentorship from experienced professionals, and the opportunity for employment in Ukrainian companies. By uniting business, educational platforms, and government initiatives, IT Connect UA fosters the development of the Ukrainian IT ecosystem and creates new opportunities for entry-level specialists.

IT Connect UA is already supported by 10 Ukrainian IT companies, including EPAM, CLOUD WORKS, Intellias, ProArea, Chainza, WebMeridian, ITRDev, CHM Software, ProfITsoft, and iDev Agency. Thanks to this support, participants who successfully complete the first stage of training will receive exclusive professional mentorship.

How to join the program and what to expect?

1). Choose one of the five available skills and review the details:

2). Fill out the registration form and assess your English proficiency by April 22, 2025 (9:00 AM Kyiv time) on the EPAM Campus portal.

3). Pass the technical test from April 22-27 (it will include basic questions on your chosen skill). Instructions and links for the test will appear in the registered participants' profiles on the Campus portal on April 22.

4). Receive an invitation to a study group and begin your training for 8-9 weeks – complete all assignments, actively participate in mentorship sessions, and demonstrate your potential and progress.

5). Successfully pass the final exam and receive an invitation to the next stage of training. It lasts 14-16 weeks and aims to deepen the knowledge and skills gained in the first stage. This is a time for active communication with mentors, completing tasks, and preparing for interviews.

6). Showcase your skills in the interview and kick-start your IT career journey.

Who can participate in the project?

  • The project is open to all Ukrainians who want to master an IT specialty and build a career in this field. Prior experience is not required; the main thing is the desire to learn and grow.

Is the training free of charge?

  • Yes, all stages of participation in the project, including mentoring, are completely free of charge, no hidden fees.

What specializations are available?

  • The following skills are available: Java Development, JavaScript Development, .NET Development, Cloud & DevOps, Software Testing.

How do I choose my skill?

  • You can take a career test to identify which profession suits you best. Additionally, you can enroll the self-paced self-study "Basics of Tech" course to learn more about different directions in IT.

Is English proficiency required?

  • Yes, you need to confirm your English level to participate, as most training materials will be in English. The recommended level is Intermediate (B1), but the higher the level, the better for training and further employment.

What happens if I fail the technical test?

  • If you don't succeed in passing the test this time, you can independently take the ‘Basics of Tech’ course by EPAM Campus and try again during the next run of the program. You can find additional preparation materials and special selections for your chosen skill in our blog.

What is the training format?

  • The program is fully online, so you can join from anywhere. It includes video lessons, homework, practical tasks, and live mentorship sessions.

How long does the training last?

  • First stage: 8-9 weeks, and second stage: 14-16 weeks

What if my level of knowledge and skills is higher than Beginner?

  • IT Connect UA follows a structured step-by-step approach for beginners. Skipping or accelerating stages is not possible, but you can use the training to review and systematize your knowledge and skills.

Is there a guarantee of employment?

  • The top graduates will have the opportunity to interview with partner companies and receive job offers. However, the organizers cannot guarantee that all graduates will secure a job, as learning progress and engagement are highly individual. That said, we are confident that candidates with strong results, solid soft skills, and motivation will not be left without promising career opportunities.

How many participants will get hired?

  • EPAM Ukraine has set a goal to hire about 800 junior specialists in 2025, and it is expected that a certain proportion of them will be graduates of the IT Connect UA program. Also 9 other partner companies are planning to extend their job offers to the best graduates.

How can I get hired specifically by EPAM?

  • Participation in IT Connect UA is not mandatory to secure a junior position at EPAM Ukraine. You can explore other available training programs on the Programs page.
